Today I attended my first lunchtime recital at the Pound and I’m glad I came, despite feeling under the weather, because hearing the talented Nafis Umerkulova play some Schubert and Liszt was just what I needed!
Ever since performing Schubert’s ‘Unfinished Symphony’ whilst an A Level Music student I have adored much of Schubert’s music. Today Umerkulova demonstrated an excellent touch to deliver an expressive performance of Schubert’s Impromptu op posth. 142, no 1 & 3. Umerkulova controlled the changes of direction in the music very well. I made more notes about this concert but have since lost them.
The audience was great for the concert though and I highly recommend coming along to the next lunchtime concert if you are free on a Wednesday near the Pound!
